Asterisk 10 Official release

It is now available. If you are new to asterisk, you may go straight to install this latest version.

A short list of available features includes:

* T.38 gateway functionality has been added to res_fax.
* Protocol independent out-of-call messaging support. Text messages not
associated with an active call can now be routed through the Asterisk
dialplan. SIP and XMPP are supported so far.
* New highly optimized and customizable ConfBridge application capable of mixing
audio at sample rates ranging from 8kHz-192kHz
* Addition of video_mode option in confbridge.conf to provide basic video
conferencing in the ConfBridge() dialplan application.
* Support for defining hints has been added to pbx_lua.
* Replacement of Berkeley DB with SQLite for the Asterisk Database (AstDB).
* Much, much more!

現有大多數 raspberry pi 的用家都安裝 asterisk 1.8, 但亦有少量用了 asterisk 10, 請問arm 6 cpu + 256MB ram 下, 用 asterisk 10 可行嗎? 還是 1.8 比較 stable? 用 10 有沒有甚麼不好的地方呢? 本來1.8 都可以, 但 10 支援 skype 又好像很不錯, 那我家人可以很平宜的打長途電話.

Will try it after building up my centos 6.1

There is a crash in my old centos 6 VM after updating to 6.1.

Thanks for CK‘s information for the official of Asterisk 10. However, I have to wait more releases before migrating from Asterisk 1.8 to 10 because there are more and more bugs to be discovered later.

Have you installed it?
