Before getting started with Asterisk 1.8 Workshops later, you have to set up properly such that it will simplify your learning and development.

Workshop 0

1) Installation of Asterisk 1.8

2) Obtain softphones such as X-Lite, Zoiper.

3) backup the following file

a) cp sip.conf sip.conf.SAMPLE
b) cp users.conf users.conf.SAMPLE
c) cp sip_notify.conf sip_notify.conf.SAMPLE
d) cp extensions.conf extensions.conf.SAMPLE
e) cp extensions.ael extensions.ael.SAMPLE

4) Remove all the contents of sip.conf, users.conf, sip_notify.conf, extensions.conf and extensions.ael

5）Restart the asterisk program by "service asterisk restart"
