In general it should be the same unless OBihai Technology has changed some settings on the dialling tone. When you pick up the phone, the dialling tone that you hear is generated by the OBi itself and not relying the dialling tone from your telco.

How do you install Asterisk 1.8 in Hong Kong? Using PC or any other device?

Without your Asterisk 1.8, you are still able to use ObiNet by means of Obi numbers. Are you planning to buy one in Hong Kong such that you are able to talk to them (in Canada or in Taiwan)?
