Could you let me know what is the specification of your system?

I also notice that IP01 may not be sufficient. There should be some other better system.

Hardware broad is ok and simple to use. Why not order a four port card and 2 FXO modules? The bare card should be more or less the same.
I have used a 4 port version with 2 FXO. Very simple to configure.

Beware of the quality of these FXO modules, which is crucial. There may be problem in line hunting.

Not yet at the moment. They are expensive stuff. I would wait and see if other alternative available. At the moment, I hook up a SPA3000 to do PSTN gateway. Sound quality drops a bit but overall it is fairly acceptable. I tried recently when I did an overseas trip.

A small module causes few hundred dollars. This is why there are poor quality modules. Only get from reliable source.

Why!. I think it is a simple function in the BIOS. Is your BIOS genuine from Intel not from other OEM? OEM broad BIOS usually has more functions.

Good. You find the reason and trick.

Yes, it was 2 from them. They do have good support.

My atom based system does not have a CD-ROM. I have USB-CDROM but my system is installed like this.

I have a working Centos server before. I just move the file system into the 2.5" harddisk and make some adjustment of the boot file. After some configurations, I then install asterisk. As like you, my first asterisk was installed in a DD-WRT router and then migrated to the present system. Moreover, I have now used YUM to install and upgrade the asterisk.

I think what ckleea said was an external USB-CDROM instead of turning a USB flash stick into an USB- ...

There are two ways to make and CD_ROM ISO to boot from a USB stick
1. to set up Grub and use iso image. The problem of this is that you can't have a too large image. Though it claims to work, my experience with large image is likely to fail
2. some linux versions allows you to convert ISO into a bootable USB stick but it is unlikely to have not possible for Asterisk Image.

My solution can be like this
install your favourable image to a hard disk
clone the partition to the drive you need by your favourable program e.g. ghost or I use Arconis True Image
the last step to use either a bootable CD or USB stick to make change to your grub bootloader in the harddisk partition

Or
you may move the 2.5" harddisk to a PC to install your favourable asterisk and then connect back to your ATOM PC.

Please note that linux is more friendly than MS Windows. Usually no need for driver installation. In your case, you use a Intel 945 chipset which is just plug and ply. Much better is that it usually won't leave much old drivers in the system

Hope this can help.

應該是OS independent. 當有電時,第一步是行 BIOS 唔係 OS

冇辦法啦!要接受現實。簡單的功能都忘了做。

都幾貴。
