US$89 now. Very expensive.

US$49 will be ok. $89 is just too much. I have registered into the Obitalk, seems the setting is good.

IAX connection is great for its simplicity. My IP01 has been set up in UK now. It turns out that it needs some configurations in the router settings for SIP.

No problem for IAX once setup.

The box is still using snv 432. No serious problem so far. No one way audio. Only difficulty encountered is to dial out via PSTN to a mobile phone number. Don't know why it can't connect and go to consumer service. To other landline and mobile number are ok so far.

I use IAX to connect and after understanding the problem of having a draytek router with several sip devices in the network, I can use sip connection.

Looking forward to integrate others into the system.

I try but still US$89.

Now the IP01 is working very well in UK. I just set up trunk for bidirectional communications and UK PSTN in -> IP01 -> HK asterisk -> VOIP or PSTN out ; or UK VOIP in -> IP01 -> HK asterisk ->  VOIP or PSTN out; or HK PSTN or VOIP in -> HK asterisk -> IP01 -> UK PSTN out

Next is incorporate GV into IP01 and possibly other

I want to try sipsorcery as suggested by Qnewbie. I am able to use it to dial out. In bound not yet figure out how to.

My IP01 has strange problem for SIP.conf. The file in fact is corrupt and only this working.

BTW, do you know in APL, how many register commands can be used in sip.conf?

Thanks, bubblestar C-Hing. Indeed I have the files, but restore does not work at the moment. I am 6000 miles from the IP01 and internet update is a bit slow. Remote management is difficult. Anyway as 角式兄: No need to know the reason now as long as it works. It is true for me to make thing work so that chatting can be done.

I have put up one pstn channel via GUI. All other under APL. One sip and one iax. for inter-communication. Want to put up other under APL. If not ok, will try GUI.

基本上,我唔係咁需要,已有一個Linux asterisk server with asterisk 1.8 i.e. google voice connected, remote site IP01, SPA3000 + PAP2;
2b account + PSTN lines, 已經足夠自己和家人應用

非常過分,仲US$99.99

I do look forward to see a more detailed report for our usage. However, it would be about the time for integration rather than keeping buying new hardware.

Honestly speaking, I have bought too many already. My ATOM D525 has not yet been fully functional.  I have made numerous tweaks and modifications to the existing one in particular failover. It has been more than enough for our usage. The hurdle for home user I can say is how to integrate, stability of the network and also security concern.

It all depends on your need.

To me, the mail server helps to forward voicemail out. Normal emails go through public server i.e. not high traffic
Apache for remote access of the system e.g. asterisk GUI, webmin for SSH, webmail client
Not a media server
Not a BT server

As asterisk server, fairly stable with good quality. Moreover, I add the fax service to the server so that it interacts with apache and asterisk

File server I believe it is a must together with Apache, allowing remote access (hard disk 咁大容量,又唔係咁貴)

Overall, resources are ok and CPU utilization is not that high even with a ATOM 330. When I can migrate my server to D525 successfully, I will have more power to handle the web and asterisks connection.

High loading occurred when I compiled the switchfin firmware

The problems I encounter now are
