I'm confused.
Since the VpnGate is already free, why bother to setup the "softether" for own use? ...

VPNgate rely on servers not controlled by you and most of them cannot give you HK IP address to access myTV, appledaily etc. These servers are public and ultimately will be exposed and then blocked by China GFW.
If you set up your own server, you can have a private server under your full control (e.g. HK IP address, 7x24 access) etc for more long term usage. |
