其實只需要把原有extensions.conf copy 去extensions_custom.conf 就可以。另外，extensions.conf 要 make sure 只有以下兩行code:

#include extensions_custom.conf
#include custom.conf

其它的configuration files 基本上一樣，沒有改變。之後reboot 就可以用。
因為Switchfin 改了extensions files 的讀取位置，只要今次改了，以後再upgrade 應該唔使咁麻煩。

所以常用的號碼最好用Speed Dial 實現。

現版本仲係 SVN 497，只係出咗 11 天。
暫未有新 update，Switchfin Forum 也未有人說有此問題。

係呀! 我地唔應該每一個SVN 都要 upgrade 的，而且跟得咁貼，如果有蟲，自己就第一個食晒啦。

可能亞星師兄部 IP01 的設定上仍有一些問題，所以會自動reboot。我用同一版本SVN 497，so far so good.

Switchfin svn503 is released 47 hours ago.  It updates to Asterisk 1.4.40 which is the lastest version as used in the official Asterisk Site.

等我Compile 好，試咗好唔好，是否穩定，再話你知。最近無再聽到Switchfin forum 有人講 firmware 有大問題，希望會穩定好用啦。

亞星終於滿意了吧!! 19天的記錄不錯呢! 看看一個月是否做得到，不過，我記得我之前都是20-21天左右，就入不到GUI，但它仍是在正常運作的，所以建議14天或21天都Reboot 一次穩陣一些。

   
我用咗好幾個版本，都跟你們一樣，覺得V437 最穩定。只不過想看過究竟，新的版本實際有什麼改進。所以現在仍會保留SVN437的Firmware 以備不時之需。

    This is the attractive feature that I have been waiting for long time.  However, I have to give up some other less important ones as the firmware size is getting larger (almost 9MB) after Switchfin uses the latest release in Asterisk 1.4 family.  It was very unstable to reboot itself endlessly when I compiled SVN503 last week.

    Anyhow, thanks for your information and I will try in this weekend.

The sizeable firmware in recent release is always a pain.  It always reflashes into endless loop and hardly for us to login.

Nevertheless, I would give it another try on the new release SVN 505 today.  Wish me luck.

A happy and sunny Saturday afternoon.  Everything seems so smooth.

I've just upgraded my IP01 to the latest SVN 505 successfully.  The compilation and upgrade process was so smooth that out of my expectation.  One take --- BINGO!

Will report whether Gmail really works in a minutes later.

This is the firmware size is restricted to 8MB and give up including IMAP and n2n.

I took another 15 minutes to re-compile SVN 505 and it was also a success.  This time I make it include IMAP and n2n as before.  Please take a look for what I selected in make menuconfig screen as below:

In these 2 updates, I did the following steps first before taking the firmware update.  I feel that it can make the process very smooth without any problem.  The purpose is to make my box more space and clean to accommodate the new firmware.

1.  Clear all the backup files under pull down menu in System Setup > Backup
2.  Reset Configuration to factory default under pull down munu in System Setup > Option (make IP01 in a cleaner state and more space)
3.  Reboot the system and login with the default login and password (admin/switchfin)
4.  Select Web Update in pull down menu under Admin > Firmware Update.  Remember to CHECK Reset Configs and Keep Network Settings options.
5.  Select File to get the file named uImage-md5 and press Upload.

The whole process works like a breeze.


For information, we'd better use a firmware with the size less than 8.3MB to ensure enough room.  Mine is 8.12MB
