你的OBi110接什么PSTN operator呢?为什么有那么大的回音呢?

harold, 你是否调整了line port gain?那些参数你修改了?你一直有听到回音吗?

pccw, i don't know why my obi have lots of problem, is it need to get a new one?

We do not have the problem as you mentioned. The FXO port of OBi110 is pretty good. Perhaps, you may do factory reset your OBi110 and followed by using the default values to make a call to someone to check again to see whether the voice is okay or not.

For the same setup, if the power to your OBi110 is disconnected, use the phone connected the OBi110's Phone port to make a call to somesone to check if there is any echo found. Also check the voice volume if it is okay.

I have echo problem too: when I call from my OBi110 connected analog phone to some remote party, the remote party would hear their voice being echo back, I will not hear echo on the OBi110 end.

Here is how I fixed the echo problem:
Physical Interfaces > PHONE Port > Port Settings > ChannelTxGain = -5

Try setting the gain to -3 first, but try not to set it to less than -6

Daibaan, you might have a different issue from Harold's. The echo from your unit is on PHONE port, while Harold has the echo on his LINE port.

May I ask what kind of phone you are using? a US phone or from other countries?

Echo is mainly due to impedance mismatch ... the first thing I would try is to adjust PHONE port impedance and see if echo can be eliminated... You can try a different impedance setting from :

Physical Interface -> PHONE port -> Port Setting -> Impedance. (default 600 is for US phones).

Also, try different phones without changing the setting ... see whether you can find a phone that gives you lower (or no) echo ...

Lower ChannelTxGain is surely a way to suppress echo, however, you will hear lower volume on the phone side, but you may as well adjust your analog phone volume accordingly ...

I have experieced the same problem when I use my NOT Qualified corded phone to make OBiTalk call to other people, I can hear echo. For ordineary phone like cordless phone they do not have this kind of problem. This is may be due to the automatic gain control in the coreless phone.

The phone I have echo problem with is an AT&T corded speaker phone, I guess AT&T should know a few things about phones I tried a much cheaper Sony corded phone, no problem. Both phones are un-powered.

I guess cordless phones are always powered, so the may be circuitry to isolate the FXO port from the incoming signal?

I have been using quite a few corded/cordless US phones, and seems OK with OBi110. I would guess the problem might be related to some particular phones, but not in general. Though Obihai does suggest using a cordless phone ...
