从上面的link看，都不知道用哪款VNC好？ck是否有意见给大家呢？

我知道ck有用VNC，是否有安装和使用心得来分享呢？

For server side, in centos 5, just yum install vncserver. in Centos 6, yum install tiger-server

For client side, bubblestar and I have been moving towards portable software. So my vncclient now is tightvnc

We are using more and more portable apps in Windows as every installation will make the registry getting complicated.

You can go to this site
portableapps.com to get the several portable apps

1. winscp
2. putty
3. firefox
4. skype

For security, you may look at VNC over SSH

The other reason is that you can open less port in the router.

For me my router can do some firewall and port forwarding, Hence I did not change the default port setting in linux installation. I also set up my iptables for second security

昨天在Asterisk，安装X Window（TWM），最原始的X Window，所有GUI都是在X Window上面做，如GNOME，KDE，Motif等等。

在公司我用VPN回家里，然后在用普通Firefox Browser，打开http://192.168.1.103:5801, 就可以出现我下面的画面：

If you can do VPN from outside, then it is very good indeed

Please add a reference on VNC on SSH tunnel to allow better security.

NX needs to be on its own client. I know it is faster but simpler in using VNC

The usual port number for VNC server is 5900.

We may use the port number 5901 for the first view port of VNC server. Using one of the following to remote login the remote vnc server.

1) hostname:5901

2) hostname::5901

In Windows VNC client, 好多時用 hostname:1 或 ip:1  就可以

就安全性問題，可以參考使用 using VNC over SSH with putty
