China Telecom has been officially offering broadband service free from GFW and internet censorship
[這簡直是國家民族的恥辱]，州官可以放火，百姓不能夠點燈。
怪不得那麽多 中國人（尤其是那些已經先富起來的人），那麽熱衷移民去一些文明的國度去(做成全球性的 “蝗禍”，香港尤甚）。
朋友，你看，懂得英語是多麽重要哦， 因爲一切的電腦文明和具創意的資訊，全都是從英語網站發出來的，在目前還是處於電腦網絡鎖國的大陸，是沒有可能有什麽創意的，因爲互聯網上的 Censorship 扼殺了一切的創意于萌芽狀態。（簡稱： 13億的 “活的死人”）

I would assume that you would have to be an expat/foreigner to signup for this service right or open to everyone?

it does sound too good to be true but, even so, it may solve only half of the equation. for those of us who access netflix, espn360 and other sites that want to see a "local" address, we still need a vpn to use an in-country VPN server, right? in which case, there's no speed gain.
You can't implement it inside China unless a foriegner is working there and even then Chinese law prohibit Chinese-citizens from using it (hence the split-tunneling/routing from certain PC'es) or else the company gets in BIG TROUBLE.
Yes it's a pain in the ass to be honest. I am an IT manager for a tech company (GPS, bluetooth, WIFI). We do a lot of development for Android but http://developer.android.com is blocked in China. We can't legally give our Chinese Android developers access to the Android development portal!
You guys are probably right... but I remember reading a couple years back that companies in China can be licensed to have private direct connections to the real internet. I do know that many companies, probably using private company VPN's to their home country headquarters, do offer unfiltered internet access which is how they get on Facebook from work.
Also, another interesting thing I've found is that internet users in China do access my YouTube videos without using a VPN or Proxy because their video views show up as originating in mainland China.
the main problem at the minute is encrypted vpns no longer work properly. It's not just a case of them being throttled... I literally can't access youtube etc any more (everything else works fine). It's just like the old days when they figured out how to do DPI.
I'm wondering if they've figured out a way to decrypt connections now on the fly, they just kick it in if they notice you going to certain IP's (well known VPN's)
Hence my curiosity if ssh is still working fine |
