I have download the latest version of plain Asterisk 1.8 and AsteriskNow from asterisk.org.
I installed AsteriskNow on a VM - twice, after Installation, I've only seen the vanilla CentOS, no Asterisk or AsteriskGUI, no Asterisk config files or /etc/asterisk director. I did not see the choice of various asterisk install option during booting of AsteriskNOW iso image. I must be missing something.
I have installed latest version of Asterisk 1.8 on 2 different CentOS machines, started playing with it.
I have also in the process of installing a CentOS VM and the install Asterisk on top of it, this is probably going to be my playpen, so I can take snapshot and have no fear of messing it up. |
