I also re-compiled my own SVN437.  The result is more or less the same as what YHFung did.

Basically, I used all default in make menuconfig + Asterisk Custom Settings + g729 + iptables.  That's all.  Files size is less than 7.9 MB.

My preliminary findings after compilation and the changes are that of followings:

1.  the Operator Panel | Admin text is added on top left most corner on the GUI.  However, don't know how to make it works.  Will explore later.

2.  After restore all my backup configuration from previous ckleea's SVN437 version, I found that extensions.conf no longer exists in File Editor.  All extensions.conf settings are now replaced by extensions_custom.conf.

3.  All settings are smoothly fit into the new configuration files except Dial Plan, Outgoing Calling Rules and Incoming Rules.  I have to copy all these settings from former extensions.conf to the new extensions_custom.conf respectively.  Not so difficult and all are recognised as expected.

4.  The distinguish change is DP in GUI.  It changes to a new look.  Please see below:

Will report if further changes are found.  If the current and latest SVN492 becomes stable, I will upgrade to it accordingly.

Difference between trunk and tag version of switchfin

Trunk version gives you the most updated version of switchfin firmware (may be instable) with the following command:

svn co https://switchfin.svn.sourceforg ... in/switchfin/trunk/ switchfin

Tag version gives you a stable version of switchfin with the following command:

svn co https://switchfin.svn.sourceforg ... n/tags/ip01-ui2.15/ switchfin-ip01-ui2.15

It should be available at svn 496.

I am getting my archive 432/437 out and get compiled

After 2 days trial and test, I reaffirm that the most stable release still fall to ckleea's SVN432 and SVN437 which I have been using for months without problem.  The latest releases from Switchfin may still be under development which has not resolved some looping problem.  I recommend to wait and see except you like to become explorer and pioneer.

I learn from the Switchfin Forum that someone failed to log in the GUI and he got the reply as below on early Jan. 2011.

http://www.switchfin.org/index.p ... &Itemid=54#p901

Quote:

Please try now the issue was with your http.conf, in the newer versions we replaced the asterisk httpd with the busybox httpd, a simple reset of the configs using "gzip -dc /defaults.tgz | tar xvf -" fixed it up.

Unquote:

In this connection, should we avoid from simply putting all the old configuration files after compiling the new releases?  Will those old files affect our recent GUI log in problem?

It is true but it appears from a major upgrade e.g. 432/437 to 496

Please see this in switchfin forum

Re: [488] Asterisk crashes when using "register" in sip.conf

Hi Guys,

In the Switchfin trunk we indeed have SIP issue.
I think I am very close to fix this very strange behavior.
Before this please consider the chan_sip and latest Switchfin trunk SIP unreliable.

In this case, it is suggested not to upgrade the version >= svn488.

Also, the looping reboot issue seems not fixed yet even on svn496. I feel that it is someting related to DHCP.  When I disable DHCP and use my own IP and DNS info., it becomes unstable and reboot endlessly.

Now, I turn back to ckleea's another compiled SVN456 which is under evaluation.

There must be something changed but not sure on the overall impact. To be honest, this ip01 has posted more problems in SIP connection.  We encounter problems in sip connection with draytek router, and those occurred recently.

My IP01 at UK with switchfin svn 437 firmware works fairly well at the moment. Both SIP and IAX connections are fine after tweaking the connection under draytek router. Voice quality is also good. I have set up up follow me and voicemail as email function.

Glad to hear that.  As I always said, svn 437 is one of the two stable releases that I have used so far.

BTW, Any tricks to tame the naughty Draytek router?
